MPlayer Remote: Control Your Linux-Based Media Center with Ease
MPlayer Remote is a beta Android app developed by SokSoft that allows you to remotely control MPlayer, an open-source media player, installed on your Linux-based Media Center. The app communicates with MPlayer through the SSH protocol and requires an SSH server (such as OpenSSH) and MPlayer (or Mplayer 2) installed on your Linux-based Media Center. MPlayer Remote stores all SSH server data, including usernames and passwords, encrypted by AES cypher.
One of the key features of MPlayer Remote is the ability to save data required to connect with multiple Media Centers. Additionally, the app includes a Media Center (SSH server) file chooser, remote control of MPlayer (including pausing, resuming, stopping, increasing and decreasing the volume, full-screen toggle, and fast-forwarding through video), subtitles file chooser, playing directory content, and playlist.
